Dell Optiplex 755, Hard Disk Issue and Hardware problem

I bought a Dell Optiplex 755 with an 80G hard drive, this is not adequate and I wanted to put a new HDD into the machine, so far no problems except that the cavity for the add on is about 16 to 18mm larger than a standard HDD so it is impossible to put a standard SATA drive into the chassis. Dell advise that I will need a " Plastic Tray " and that the drive screws mount to the tray which must then be slid into fitted locks on the chassis. All Ok again but then comes the crunch. The said tray is not in stock in Australia and that there will be a 6 to 8 week delivery delay. That  is bad enough but its price is $86 excluding GST and an additional $23.70 to have it delivered to me. So I must wait 8 weeks ( over Christmas ) and pay over $110 to get a moulded plastic tray to put a completely standard hard drive into a Dell machine.

It occurs to me that there has to be another way of doing this but I am short of Ideas, my question is " Has anyone else struck this as an issue and found a cheaper way around it  ? " I would appreciate any feedback at all
