First....
I have a an XPS 8700 (non-SE) 34YP322. I have added a Crucial M550 256 GB mSATA ssd and removed the original 1 TB Seagate hdd for safe keeping and replaced it with a clean 1 TB Seagate hdd.
Windows 8.1 Home Premium and Bitdefender internet security 2015 are installed on the mSATA ssd now and after several restarts I have found no issues and the speed is impressive, fastest boot I've ever seen.
I would like to make the hdd a data drive and have no data on the ssd. How do I ensure that all data (files, documents, saved games, photos, music, and videos etc.) for all users goes to the data drive.
Some say you can move the user files to the data hdd and that solves the issue, but process to do this seem very exacting and confusing.
Others say not to move the user files as windows will not allow it and it will cause many problems. I am thinking this should be done prior to installing the various programs that I will need.
What is the best way to meet these goals?
Second....
I want ensure that none of my programs or data on any of my computers (All now running 8.1) goes to the Sky Drive automatically or otherwise.
How do I do this and how I check to see that the Sky Drive is empty?
Third....
Once I get every thing installed and working properly for few days I would like to install the original hdd as E and use it for backup. Or, should I keep it as is for warrenty issues?
