Hello Forum Users.
My xps 2720 is not recording anything when I use microphone jack, and hardly recording (low volumes)anything when I dont use microphone. I also have questions about using XPS2720's large screen to extend my laptop screen using HDMI from laptop to HDMI in on XPS. That doesnt work either. Here are my support issues:
1. Reached customer support. The support person would put me on hold for each of the 2 simple questions and "research".His responses were vague, and then he indicated he would transfer me to desktop support as he handled "inspiron" only!! His transfer failed and call dropped.
2. Called customer support. Voice was muffled at the other end, when I indicated so, the call dropped!
3. Called customer support. The person couldnt understand what I was trying to do (connect laptop to XPS display, and un-addressed audio / mic jack issue), he tried understanding the issue but kept on interpreting whatever I said to mean I was trying to extend the XPS to a monitor. I asked to speak to someone who knows product better, he informed he will get the supervisor, and the call dropped. By now I am wondering if there is another meaning to call dropping when Dell cannot respond.
4. Called again, the first person who I reached before also picked up my call, when she heard what I was seeking resolution to, the call dropped.
I dont know what is going on with Dell support. I would like to know if anyone else had experiences similar to my issues especially when Dell support cannot successfully answer the question. I would really prefer to speak to actual dell support person in US (instead of offshore call center folks) to get answers to my questions. I tried downloading the XPS manual, and the link led me to a PDF doc that indicates it is owner's manual, but all it is a manual to repaid the system -open covers, replace chipsets, back cover, display etc. !! Frustrating :-)
