I have an Inspiron 580s. Just recently, the cpu fan started surging every few seconds. The fan revs up to about 3000 RPMs and then goes back to normal. I have installed SpeedFan and the CPU itself does not show that it is hot.
I cleaned out the heatsink but that didn't help either.
Any suggestions on what to check? Or what the problem could be?
