I have an Alienware Aurora R3 I purchased back in 2011. I recently had a hard drive failure and was entirely unable to boot up the computer. I've moved past this and purchased a 500GB SATA 6.0Gb/s and 16MB Data Burst Cache,Dell OptiPlex.
I'm simply trying to install Windows 7 on the new hard drive, however when I run the CD, my system does not recognize the drive. My old hard drive is fried and I'm content to simply start on a blank slate with the new one.
Do I need to install a specific driver in the install setup? I've searched for an answer for a few days and have been unsuccessful. I'd really appreciate anyone's assistance.
