Dell XPS 8700 Upgrade motherboard?! due to Nvidia 980 issues !

Hello Friends, just yesterday bought myself the Dell XPS 8700 with 32gb ram and 256ssd with i7 processor. bought this for gaming because was planning on upgrading the psu to a 750 watt and the
graphics card to the nvidia 980. but read today that the dell xps 8700 is having issues with black screen!

so now when i receive the computer will not be taking any chances and will upgrade the motherboard.
wanted to know will all the components in the dell xps 8700 work with this motherboard:

is the DELL XPS 8700 i7 Processor a LGA 1150 SOCKET and the cpu cooler? the I.O shield behind should be easy to replace?

Please help
