The CPU Fan on my Inspiron 580 desktop is continually cycling, running up to full speed for about 1-2 secs, and then back to normal for maybe 5 seconds. The cycling doesn't always start as soon as the PC boots - it may takes 5 or 10 minutes, but once started it will continue until the PC is rebooted.
The temperatures are all normal, and this happens regardless of CPU load. I've cleaned the PC with compressed air, although it wasn't that dusty.
The PC has been doing this for a few months now, but it makes the PC absolutely infuriating to use and impossible to leave switched on.
Has anyone any ideas?
