OptiPlex 760 shuts down when USB port is plugged into. So I have a Line 6 Studio GX, which is an interface for guitar and it operates basically as an external sound card. The GX uses a UBS 2.0 cable to connect to the computer and Line 6 tells you to use the rear USB ports NOT the front in order to reduce Latency. I use the bottom 2 USB ports for my mouse and keyboard so I plugged the GX into the 3rd USB port up from the bottom. When I did the computer shut down right away, while my hand was still on the end of the USB cable. I unplugged the USB cable and turned the machine back on and tried it once again and the same thing happened. I know nothing is wrong with the Studio GX because I use it with my other computer (OptiPlex 760 SFF) just fine AND even with the Machine that shuts down as long as I use one of the front USB ports, and strangely enough with NO noticeable Latency. Even though I can use this piece of equipment with the front USB ports I want to use it with one of the remaining back USB ports if at all possible, what could be the problem?
