XPS 8500 Recognition Problems with USB 3.0

I waited for the Ivy Bridge computers because I wanted native USB 3.0 implementation, thinking that would be more trouble free. I have a WD 750 GB Passport drive that has trouble being recognized using the front 3.0 ports. When I plug it in, sometimes nothing happens, sometimes it is recognized as a 2.0 device, and a few times it was seen as 3.0 but would disconnect whenever it felt like it. If it is recognized and I even barely touch the cable, it can disconnect.

The back 3.0 ports work better, but not all the time. It can take up to a minuted at time for the drive to be recognized. When the drive is plugged into the back 3.0 ports, the wireless mouse (plugged into a back 2.0 port) begins responding poorly, sometimes not at all.

Has anyone else noticed similar behavior from the 8500's USB 3.0, and if so have you found anything that might help?
