Win 10 Upgrade has stopped PC working at all

I have a Dell 8700, with Invidia Graphics card as supplied. I made sure everything on Win 8.1 was up to date including the graphics drivers from Invidia.

I went through the upgrade to Win 10, but the machine ended just sitting there with the mouse cursor on a blank screen. After leaving it for another hour  it was just the same so I switched the machine off and restarted.

At first I got nothing but the same black screen with the mouse cursor, which would move around the screen but not do anything. I decide to input my password, which worked and I got the desktop. I though OK there is a glitch on the first boot but it should be OK now. NO, when I tried to open a program the status bar said it was open but nothing on the screen but the desktop background. Through trial I discovered that the cursor stopped at the top right and bottom of the screen, but on the left it would stop for the first bottom inch or so then disappear  off the edge, there was a window open in the task bar about windows edge but I could only see the thumbnail.

So with no control I rebooted, now even entering the password did not get to the desktop. another reboot and now all I get is 5 beeps at the startup and absolutely nothing else. According to a post on the internet 5 beeps is CMOS battery failure, so new battery fitted - wrong, still 5 beeps. Win 10 has stopped me getting past the post beeps, that's why this post is in desktop and hardware related, I cannot get anything on the screen to work with.

The PC has been working fine everyday and I have never had any issues with it or any other upgrades in the past and was working right up to the Win 10 upgrade.

Anyone got any answers?
