User unable to save files to Desktop

Hi

One of our members of staff is unable to save files from a USB key to their desktop. When they try a message is displayed stating they need permission. The user account is a domain account and has been added to the desktop computer with local administrator rights. When I look at the folder security permissions I can see that the account has Full Control over the desktop.

I suspect that this is a by-product of the Dell Data Protection program. This was downloaded as part of a software bundle when I initially setup the desktop. To be honest it has been a pain. I can see a local account named crdsecadmin$admin that has the same administrative privileges for the Desktop folder and which is associated with the Dell Data Protection software.

This is the only computer that has this issue and it is the only one that has the Dell Data Protection software installed.

Can someone either:

Help me ensure that the member of staff can save files to their desktop from any source

Or, preferably:

Uninstall Dell Data Protection

I am unable to uninstall the software. I would like to simply nuke it - I don't need to save any settings or suchlike. I have not tried a manual removal because it appears to have insinuated itself deeply into the system e.g. the logon screen is different to all other desktops and is branded Dell.

Thanks

[Edit]

I have just discovered that the prompt stating that permission is required is also displayed when trying to save to network locations as well.

I just need to get rid of this software. Any help appreciated.
