Whilst rebooting, my Vostro 420 loads the BIOS and does its POST. A fan then comes on momentarily, the PC beeps ONCE, and then it reboots all over again. It may repeat this process a couple of times, before booting the OS.
Why is this?
It doesn't always do this. About 50% of the time it starts up first time. Sometimes it reboots several times before booting the OS. It's been doing this for years!
Does anyone know why?
I've always been suspicious it's a virus, but the PC seems OK.
