I have a xps 8500 bought in Oct 2012. Windows 7 os.
I recently upgraded my os to windows 8.0 but due to it being unstable, reverted back to windows 7 clean install.
Went on the dell support page and did an auto detect drivers update.
Everything seemed fine but after I restarted my pc, it would not boot up. Noticed the HDD was missing.
I suspect this is due to bios update. The HDD cables are all intact. It did made a weird buzzing sound on start up but only for several seconds. The HDD still spins smoothly.
I'm now left with a dead brick. What can I do? Is there a way I can roll back the bios?
Kindly advise. Thank you.
