Can someone please tell me if I can do the following:
I have an old XPS8300 running Win7. Several things died on the machine, so I decided to buy a new XPS8700 running Win10. Before the 8300 died I was able to make a disk image and transfer it to a new hard drive. My question is can I merely replace the drive in the 8700 with the new drive (made from the 8300) and expect it to boot correctly? There is more RAM on the 8700 and a different video card (I think). Otherwise, everything else is identical - including the HD size (1gb).
I know someone is going to ask why I want to do this. The reasons are 1. I hate Win10. 2. I don't want to load all my programs again on the new Win10 drive.
Thank you to anyone who can help.
