Hello,
have Dell T5400 and has recently been going nuts. The bios is A11. Whenever I turn on the workstation, I get 6 beep tones which reference to memory. I have got 2GBx8 in it. At times I need to remove the memory and insert it back and the PC will come up, at time I simply swap the memory locations or remove one in order to boot the PC. In a nutshell, I have to keep opening the case and playing around with the memory.
Above all is the fact the memory shows up only as 4GB instead of 16GB makes me wonder what to do. The maximum I can get at boot times is 8GB and on the next reboot it will be 4GB. I have read all sorts of threads on the web, yet there is no solution
Has someone ever resolve this problems and can Dell actually provide a solution for this?
I am doing a lot with this workstation and I am prepared to spend some Euros to get it working. Is there any compatible motherboard that one can replace the Dell T5400? I really need your help.
Thanks
Tasco
