Hi,
I try to install a network adapter HPE Ethernet 1Gb 4-port 331T, PCI Express x4 in the PCI Express x16 slot of my Dell Dimension E520.
According to network adapter's documentation, it should be compatible with a 16x slot ("Four lane (x4) PCI Express compatible with x4, x8, and x16 PCI Express slots").
There is an error when the computer is switched on: LED 1 and 3 are lighten, meaning that there is a problem with installed RAM. However, computer runs fine when PCI network adapter is removed.
Latest available BIOS is installed. Also tried to disable embedded NIC, without success.
Is this PCI card really compatible?
