A few weeks ago I did a clean install on my Inspiron N505 using a Windows 7 Home Premium installer that I downloaded using a link provided by Microsoft support. Today I am getting a message that I must activate Windows today. According to Microsoft Answer Desk, this is because my Windows is an 'SLP' (apparently means that Dell owns the product key and the installation).
I'm unable to contact Dell Chat or email support as my machine is out of warranty.
Can anyone advise how I get Dell to reactivate my product key?
[PS: My machine cannot handle Windows 10, so upgrading is not an option. It slows my machine down really badly]
