I have an old Dell Dimension E520. Recently when I turned the hard drive on, the Dell Logo will flash and some of the print that comes with the startup scrolls through. After that, instead of the blue Windows log in screen appearing, the monitor goes black. I borrowed a similar Dell monitor and tried the start up with that and it continued to do the same thing. Does this mean there is something wrong with the hard drive and its communication with the monitor?
Fortunately, almost everything is backed up but I do have some videos I need to retrieve that were saved on there.
