I had a virus attack my pc which left my hardrive inaccessable, I purchased a new Hard drive and reinstalled windows 7. but now i cant get the bios to recognize a bootable thumbdrive.... the bios sees all of my other usb external drives and i have 8 of them, but it does not allow me to set it as a boot device or even recognize my bootable thumbdrive unless i am in windows. there it works fine.
on my other pcs the thumbdrive will boot up the systems just fine, as did this one, until the virus attack, now my bios Version a-14 will not even allow it as a boot device... is it a corrupted bios or some other issue?
device management shows no issues or yellow warnings so i have no idea how to fix this
and dell diagnotics is no help since it cant determine my service tag even though i have one from when i purhased the system in canada
