I have a Dell Vostro 200 that has given me excellent service. Recently though, I experienced my icons took several minutes to appear upon startup. Microsoft article KB823612 addresses this problem. It basically says to stop the MS services, Plug and Play and Windows Image Acquisition. That definitely fixed my problem, but the article goes on to say to contact the manufacturer for the correct windows drivers. I don't that much about computers, but if I have drivers for all of my hardware by those various manufacturers, why do I need the MS drivers?
