Hi, I have a 2009 Inspiron 537 with a Core 2 duo E8400 chip. I have the latest BIOS installed (A03 BIOS Oct 2009).
I had 3GB RAM in there. I am trying to upgrade to 4GB and installed these 2 DIMMS:
"4GB Kit 2x 2GB PC2-6400 DDR2 800 Non ECC 240 Pin By KINGSTON"
(by the way, my OS is Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit version).
Problem is in the BIOS it reads:
MEMORY INSTALLED: 4096MB
MEMORY AVAILABLE: 3072MB
See image below. Please help. Does the Inspiron motherboard truly support 4GB RAM?? I'm not sure what else I can possibly do. Thanks for any help.
