New Inspiron 2350, had to kill mediabuttons.exe.

Fan on most of the time and that exe nearly 40% CPU.  Cant find anywhere what DELLOSD (mediabuttons is part of it) does, uninstalled it and all's grand.  Anyone know what functionality I'll be losing without it ?
