My Dell XPS 8700 has Windows 10 and a wireless Logitech keyboard, connected by USB. The keyboard works absolutely fine when Windows has loaded. I have the latest bios version, A11.
However, when the computer is turned on and starts the bios boot, it shows "Keyboard Failure" on the screen for about half a second. When I try to go into the bios setup by tapping on "F2" at the relevant point (I keep tapping "F2" from the moment I press the power button on the computer), there is no response. Both the "keyboard failure" and inability to enter the bios setup seems to occur whether I am doing a cold boot immediately after a shut down, a cold boot after the computer has been off for an extended period or a restart.
I have tried connecting the original wired Dell keyboard to one of the USB ports on the front of the unit (without disconnecting the wireless keyboard) with the same problem on bios bootup.
I have experienced this problem on both A11 and A03 bios versions. I know in the past - although I cannot remember when - I have been able to enter the bios setup by pressing "F2".
Any thoughts on how to fix this?
