I got a new Dell 8700 XPS Special Edition, and quickly ran out of available space on a 3TB hard drive. I discovered then, the C: drive has a capacity of 214 GB, and the data-partition drive D: has the capacity of 2.78 TB.
I was dumbfounded to discover this. Why on earth would all the hard drive capacity be assigned to the D: drive, and the C: drive left with barely any space?
I use a lot of music software with audio libraries and plug-ins, which would be a nightmare to manage if they are not allowed to download in the default folders. So, I have to reformat my hard drive.
Is there something I'm missing? Some reason for the capacity to be on the D: drive?
