I'm on a steep learning curve here and would appreciate some help.
Currently I have a Windows 7 PC with two 160 gigabyte hard drives the programs are on one, the documents are on the other. My new XPS 8700 has a 32Gb solid state drive with an additional 2 terabyte drive. Dell tell me that this new machine will be using a raid configuration. As I'm still mired in XP territory I'm not sure what this means. Do I understand correctly that as programs are loaded into the solid state drive when it becomes full they will overflow on to the other drive.
I intend to replace the small 32 gigabyte solid state drive with a larger one and hope to configure it as my Windows 7 machine ie programs on one disc, documents on the other. Before I go any further and confuse myself even more could someone please tell me that this is possible. I would image the current Windows 8.1 installation before attempting any modification. Thank you.
