I am unable to install the Dell System Detect utility.
I have successfully downloaded DellSystemDetectLauncher.exe. When I run this application, an error message appears stating: "Application download did not succeed. Check your network connection, or contact your system administrator or network service provider."
When I click the Details... button, I see the following in the error summary:
Downloading downloads.dell.com/.../DellSystemDetect.application did not succeed.
+ Unable to connect to the remote server
+ No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:80
I can guess that this failure results because our internet connection is through a proxy service. We do not allow direct connection to port 80 from any PC, as this would allow circumventing the proxy service.
Does Dell have a suggested workaround for this? Or does Dell choose not to support customers who use a proxy service for their internet connection?
